2008 Mercedes-Benz CLK63 AMG Black Series
The notorious speed-loving team at AMG are coming up with another 500 hp and over monster, the 2008 Mercedes-Benz CLK63 AMG Black Series. This limited, exclusive cars are going to be hand-made by AMG, only a few hundred copies will be made and we are probably talking only about the USA.
So what more does the Black Series benefit from than the standard CLK63 AMG? First of all, 6.2-liter V8 is hand made with maximum care, also the Black Series have coupe configuration, the regular CLK63 AMG coming only as convertible model. Other additions are atter fenders, a more aggressive air dam and a trick rear diffuser. AMG is using only carbon fibre, to make the car as light as possible. Less weight more speed…
Inside the 2008 Mercedes-Benz CLK63 AMG Black Series there are only two seats… but what seats! They seem taken from a space shuttle, with side-impact airbags and ergonomic shape. The steering wheel is smaller and with a flat bottom, as pros prefer. AMG modified the ESP and ASR programs, and electronic driving-system is much more proficient with the Black Series CLK63. Same 14.2-inch front and 13.0-inch rear vented composite discs are ready to stop this bullet-of-a-car, if need arises. With the help of 265/30R-19 front and 285/30R-19 rear Pirelli P-Zero Corsas tires with AMG forged-aluminum rims, stopping the car shouldn’t be all that difficult.. for 500 hp. Also, adjustable suspension systems and seven-speed automatic are all meant to make ride with the Black Series as much a joy as Mercedes is used to provide to it’s customers.
Test are awaited with no patience at all. The CLK63 AMG Black Series reaches, in theory, a max speed of 186 mph, and 60 mph in 4.1 seconds. Starting price is $140,000.
