40 years of success

Ford and Shelby are going to celebrate their 40th aniversary in the best way possible – by releasing a new Mustang Shelby GT500KR. Inspired by the 1968 KR classic model, the new car will be equipped with a custom carbon composite hood with scoops and stainless steel twist-down hood pins. It will also have a lower front air dam with chrome-trimmed functional brake ducts and large 14-inch Brembo front brakes.

Ford’s Special Vehicle Team along with Carroll Shelby, are working on all aspects of the car, without focusing on any particular parts.

Rear View

The 2008 Ford Shelby GT500KR’s will be a 5.4-liter supercharged V-8 producing estimated 540-horsepower and 510 ft.-lbs. of torque.It will have 6-speed manual transmission with 3.73:1 rear axle ratio and a Ford Racing performance exhaust system.
The leather interior will feature special design elements such as Carroll SHelby signature embroidered headrests and floor mats and an official Shelby CSM 40th Anniversary GT500KR dash plate. The exterior of the car will also have some special design elements such as 40th Anniversary badges on the front quarter panels and Shelby lettering across the front edge of the hood and rear decklid.

In addition to these elements, Ford Racing offers a complete catalog of performance parts for Mustang fans.

All these elements make the Mustang Shelby GT500KR the most looked forward to appearance of 2008. The Anniversary edition will be limited to only 1000 cars and will be a must-have for car enthusiasts, especially Ford and Shelby fans.
