Buick 2008 Enclave, labelled “succes” at Shanghai

At the already notorious Shanghai auto show, the American side of the public must have kept an eye opened for the new Buick Enclave. The Enclave is already receiving excellent remarks, and we can imagine why.

The Enclave is looking good from the outside, but the surprise comes when you sit at the wheel. The car seats eight persons, and still has net 116.2 cubic feet of storage, so you can pack all you need for a nice weekend camp-out! The six-speed automatic transmission work well with manual change also, using the net +/- buttons on the shifter. Tested in traffic, the Enclave did brilliantly, with good smooth handling.

A less pleasant aspect of the Buick Enclave is the acceleration, lessened by fuel economy interests probably: from 0 to 60 mph in 8.1 seconds. Still, this isn’t all that bad, for a 4,780 lb curb weight car. Fuel millage, epa combined, is only 19 mpg, and this is surely a plus considering the ever-growing gas prices. We do have this killer front-panel though..

To sum it up, the 2008 Buick Enclave is the choice if you plan to buy a large, roomy car. Laminated window glass, rear seat entertainment systems, full leather interior or an impressive 5.1 sound system are only some of the excellent add-ons. Considering also that fact that the Enclave is some thousands of dollars cheaper than models from competitor Lexus, this new Buick model can be labelled “success”.
