This year at Detroit, Ford tried to bring something into Mustang’s design and they came up with a glass roof. The new Shelby GT500KR looks very good with this “haircut”. For this version, Ford prepared a 5.4-liter V8 supercharged engine which develops 540 HP. They planned to put into production about 1,000 units. Also, the Mustang is the best sold convertible in the U.S., almost one out of two sports-cars sold it’s Ford’s jewel. The glass roof will be available for $1,995 and another interesting thing is that Shelby will celebrate its 45th anniversary and we would like to remind you that the Shelby GT500KR will be the star of a the movie “KITT”. We want to congratulate Ford for their continuity and we wish them the best.

After we presented the X6, it’s time to say a few words about the other cars unveiled by BMW. The first is the 335d and the second is the X5 xDrive35d, both powered by the 3.0-liter diesel. This engine produces 265 HP and 425 lb-ft torque and it’s supposed to be one of the most efficient and performing in its class. BMW also promotes their particulate filters and the urea injection system which they named it BluePerformance. These cars are very green, but we don’t know their prices although we hope to give more informations soon.

At Detroit, Mitsubishi unveiled the new Lancer Raillart. The Lancer Raillart is propelled by a 2.0-liter 4B11 turbocharged engine which produces 235 HP. It features a Twin Clutch SST transmission, 4WD driveline and ACD (Active Center Differential). The design is sporty and very agressive, some of the improvements are the new front and rear bumpers and the hood. We think that this version is better than the previous two. Volkswagen unveiled the Passat CC. Some of its features are “imported” from the standard sedan. Volkswagen came up with a more attractive design and the new front fascia and the smaller rear overhang. The interior also has been modified, now it’s more ergonomic and it features new panel instruments. You can choose between various engines, 1.8 TSI, 2.0 TSI, 3.6 FSI and 2.0 TDI. Another interesting feature is the Park Assist. We think the new version is better than the previous, and we hope that you will enjoy it.

Toyota brought a fresh face at Detroit Auto Show, it’s the Venza crossover. Toyota will compete against Nissan Murano and Ford Edge and they built a good-looking car. The Venza is propelled by a V6 engine which produces 268 HP or you can opt for the 2.7-liter four-cylinder. The first has dual-exhausts and 20-inch tires, and the second has single exhaust and 19-inch wheels. At both engines the transmission is a six-speed automatic. The design includes a large front grille and brand new headlights, and another advantage is the very large glass roof. They didn’t announce any price yet, but we think it will be worthwhile.

BMW announced at Detroit Auto Show that they start the production of the X6. The Bavarian company says that the car is a coupe-crossover combination. It has a nice interior but not very comfortable for those who are staying on the back-seat. For this model, BMW will use the new 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine which uses direct-injection. The engine produces 407 HP and 450 lb-ft torque between 1800 and 4500 RPM. They say that this engine is the most economical and efficient in its class.

They have chosen a six-speed automatic transmission, but the driver can also change gears manually. Also, the car features xDrive and Dynamic Performance Control which is a little different by regular stability control systems and it’s supposed to be better and to give drivers a special feeling.

We are used to get exceptional cars from BMW and this hatchback model is one of them. We wish them the best and to keep making better and better concepts. We think this car will be one of the best in SUV-class.

We couldn’t wait to see the Mazda Furai at Detroit Auto Show and we finally show it to you. The design is very attractive, nice curves, they thought at everything. We remind you that the car was designed with the help of Swift Engineering and it has the chassis of a race car, Courage C65. Mazda Furai has under the hood a 20B rotary engine which produces 450HP and it runs on E100-ethanol. The Furai Concept is simply astonishing and we hope to see it on the track or even on the highway.

So, let’s get back to Detroit. Here it is the 2008 Mini Cooper S Clubman. The company assures that its a quality car and that its a very safe car. The S Clubman is designed in five-doors and it’s longer with 9.45 inches. The buyers can choose between two engines: 1.6-liter, four-cylinder, twin-scroll turbocharged, 175HP, and the other one, also 1.6-liter, four-cylinder but no turbocharger which results in a decrease of 55HP. The company announced that they will start shipping beginning with 16th February and has a starting price of $24,100.

Maybach continued their tradition at the Detroit Auto Show. They unveiled the luxurious Landaulet convertible. Actually, it’s half sedan and half convertible, the driver is isolated while passengers are looking to the blue sky or to the stars depending on the occasion. The interior is almost entirely covered in white leather, an entertaining system which includes DVD player, two LCD screens and the famous champagne compartment. For this model, Maybach used the same engine they put on the 57 S and 62 S, a V12 which unleashes 612 HP. For those of you which can afford this super-luxury-car, just enjoy it.

Ford unveiled a concept car at Detroit Auto Show called Verve. Although it didn’t make too much agitation around him, we felt that we had to say a few words about it or just mention it. Verve made his first appearance at Frankfurt Motor Show and now appeared with new taillights and front fascia. A couple of the features are the 4-cylinder engine 1.4-liter EcoBoost and PowerShift dual-clutch gearbox. We all we have to say is that is an interesting and economic car.
