For an additional fee of about $12,000 you can suit your car with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tires, light-weight 2-piece Stoptech brakes, carbon fiber front splitter, adjustable rear wing and other features. This will bring a 40-lb weight cut. From the V8 engine, all is the same: 600 hp and 560 lb-ft. We are hoping that Chrysler doesn’t play with us and keeps their word.

Drivers can now enjoy the new NitroDodge, whose name seems like a great big boy truck, and who is equipped with a 3.7-liter V6 petrol engine or a 2.8-litre diesel with 460Nm of torque. Though it gives smooth changes and the handling is a letdown, with a fair degree of body roll to contend with in corners, it competes alongside models including Hyundai Santa Fe, Nissan Pathfinder and Kia Sorento, with extremely competitive prices(the base diesel comes under £20.000).

Those how will own a Nitro should notice the difference between its solid and expensive exterior, and the cheap and brittle plastics from the interior, with dominating square lines, and an exceptionally shallow dash for a SUV; You can’t miss the pistol-grip handbrake, or the good headroom, but therear seats do not offer enough underthigh support. Moreover, the servicing costs are low, taking into consideration the diesel isn’t very economical.

It hasn’t been changed very much from the old model, but there are a few modifications that we have to post about. Now, the car can reach a top speed of 200mph, with those tiny modifications, like the redesigned camshafts, more displacements and a bump up in the compression. As a design improvement, the team has changed the hood and also this helps at better aerodynamics.

Also, the 2008 Viper has new tires and better shocks and springs, especially designed to fit the car and the tires. The engine is now displacing 8.4 liters, 0.1 more than the older one and the cylinders have been increased with one millimeter in diameter each. Along with the cylinders, the valves have also been increased in size to increase the horsepower to a whopping 600, 90 more than the older model.

The V8 engine is now cooled through the CNC-shaped ports and combustion chambers and has a valve timing system. It’s throttle bodies are now borrowed from the Dodge 4.7 liter V8 engine and now it’s compression ratio is 10.2, from 9.6.

Now, with 90hp more, the car needs a new differential to control them, so they have changed the old TR56 with a new TR60 six speed manual box. The 600hp V8 powered Dodge Viper reaches 0-to-60mph in less than four seconds.

The 2008 Dodge Viper is priced at $83,995 for the roadster and $84,745 for the coupe.

Dodge are going to launch a new model, and an expected one too. The 2008 Avenger R/T mid-size sedan is maybe not about revenge, but a little about come-backs. Why about come-backs? Because it looks like the Charger, a dear model to all Dodge fans, and also resembles the 300 in the exterior design. The 2008 Avenger also vaguely reminds of the Mopar muscle-car.

The 2008 Dodge Avenger R/T is powered by a 3.5-liter V6, pretty powerful as Dodge usually uses. Still, the Avenger is a heavy vehicle, at 3568 lb curb weight. So the 235 hp at 65000 rpm, that could otherwise seem a lot, don’t burst out all that much force, torque is 232 lb-ft at 4000 rpm. Worse is the transmission, that many testers have already complained of. It seems the drive is noisy, mainly because of the transmission and the engine that isn’t tuned right. Also, the fact that the 2008 Avenger has a six-speed automatic transmission could be boring for drivers that like a sports-like feel to their car.

Exterior design is probably the best thing about this Dodge. A lot more stylish than the Sebring, it still has the massive look that such a car should have. Typical Dodge front end and rear quarter-panels make the car bad and mad, and also give an illusion of a bigger size than this sedan really has. Interior is also good-looking, pretty much in the classic Dodge line. Seats are two-tone, which looks good enough. Other pluses are the quality materials used, the feel of the steering-wheel, the funny rear-seat video game system, and an excellent stereo.

Even if setbacks can be named, the 2008 Dodge Avenger is a good acquisition for $28,895, combining sheer force with elegance and agility. Consumption is 19 mpg, and the car will be on sale from 29 May forth.
