Hennessey Performance Engineering is preparing a new mid engined supercar, the Venom GT, to compete with Bugatti Veyron and as they state, it has impressive power, speed and acceleration.It’s engine is based on the twin turbocharged Dodge Viper’s V10 engine, with a much lighter package, at less than 2,700 lbs, meaning that for each horsepower, it only weights 2.7lbs. This power / weight ratio accelerates the car from 0 to 100km/h in less than 2.5 seconds and it should reach 300km/s in just 14 seconds, which is impressive. The Venom GT will sport a 6 speed transmission or an optional sequential gearbox.

But don’t be to happy on this, because they aren’t planning to release the cars very soon, planning to release only to concepts in 2009 for shows.
