Honda has unveiled the 2009 Honda Accord and it’s wagon version, the Accord Touring for Europe and it will be released at the 2008 Geneva Motor show, next month. The new Accord looks like the 2009 Acura TSX, unveiled not too long ago in the U.S.

The new Accord will come with three engine options, all Euro 5 compliant, as following: an i-DTEC diesel that produces 148 hp, and 258 pound feed of torque at 2,000 rpm, a 2.0L i-VTEC that produces 154 hp and a 2.4L 4-cylinder that produces almost 200 hp and 172 foot pounds of torque. Those three engines come with 6-speed manual transmission and the gas engines clients can opt for a 5-speed automatic transmission.

The interior is elegant and futuristic, with expensive materials, like all Honda cars. It’s exterior design has nice lines and offers a line of sobriety. We will be able to buy the new Honda Accord before the new Acura TSX, probably after the 2008 Geneva Auto Show.

Although we didn’t see the “final product”, from these teaser images we can make a good image of how to car is going to look. The new headlights and the chromed door-handles seem to be the best features for this latest concept. The Tourer concept will pe powered by the new 2.2-liter four-cylinder iDTEC diesen engine, first presented this year at the Detroit Auto Show.

Also, it’s said that Honda will unveil the Acura TSX destined for the U.S. market.

It has been unveiled at the LA Auto Show today and they state that it’s a zero-emissions, but it’s kinda hard to find stations for it and we are not sure yet if it features the GPS system that finds hydrogen fuel stations. Unfortunately, there will only be 100 Honda FCX Clarity models released for the ones that live near one of it’s three hydrogen fuel stations. So only southern California inhabitants will have the occasion to buy it.

The car uses the latest technologies to make it as much aerodynamic as possible, with twin fairings, wind tunnels and brace bridges on the vacant roof. Honda S2000 CR’s steering has been hastened to 13.8:1 from 14.9:1 for increased rigidity and it uses Bridgestone Potenz RE070 tires.

It sports a six-speed manual gearbox, with rear wheel drive and it’s priced at about $38,000, consuming from 18 to 25mpg.

For car maniacs around the world, it was quite some news the Honda would built it’s first production turbocharged engine, and mount it on a crossover country, the 2007 Acura DRX.

The Acura DRX is built on the platform as the new Honda CR-V, is a nice all-wheel-drive vehicle, no too big not too small. Launched last summer, the Acura DRX is powered by a 2.3-liter turbocharged and intercooled four-cylinder, that makes all-in-all an impressive 240 hp at 6000 rpm and 260 lb-ft of torque at 4500 rpm. Considering facts only, the Acura DRX matches the Mazda CX-7, the two cars also being almost the same size, the Mazda CX-7 wheelbase having only an extra 4 inches longer the Acura’s.

In car-tests, the RDX did quite well on the track, in straight-line tests breaking the 7.0-second mark from 0 to 60 mph ( the Mazda CX-7 did the CX-7 7.72 seconds ). The RDX did however need long pauses for cooling down, to reach high speeds at top performance afterwards. Concerning brakes, the Acura RDX stopped nicely in 129 feet from 60 mph, but smoking brakes and cooling brakes were required.

Buyers all agreed that speed and handling are the best parts of the Acura DRX, and interior aspects aren’t all that bad either, the seats are conformable, stereo system of good quality and styling tops competitors CX-7 and the BMW X3. Setbacks seem to be the lack of separate climate controls for rear passengers and no light in the cargo area, and poor memory function for the driver’s seat. Consumption is okay too, at 19 mpg for city.
