Skoda made an official announcement about the Fabia Super 2000 prototype which is destined to compete in the Super 2000 category. The sports car is tested in order to be compatible with the FIA regs, features a 2-liter atmospheric four-cylinder petrol engine, 6-speed transmission and 4-wheel drive system. Skoda hopes to get very useful results and they are confident that the prototype will progress very fast. According to Martin Lauer, Head of Corporate Communications, Skoda will achieve what they proposed because of their experience and their popularity.

ŠKODA AUTO STARTS TESTING FABIA SUPER 2000

Škoda Auto has started testing the first prototype of the Škoda Fabia Super 2000 today. Designed to be used in the Super 2000 category, the vehicle is based on the second-generation Fabia and, in compliance with the FIA regulations, is equipped with a two-litre atmospheric four-cylinder petrol engine, a six-speed sequential transmission and a four-wheel drive system with three mechanical differentials.

Commenting on the occasion, Dr. Eckhard Scholz, Škoda Auto BOD Member responsible for technological development, said: “We are glad to have started testing the Fabia Super 2000. This year we are planning to optimise and certify the vehicle so that we can use it on both national and international levels. When exactly will the vehicle be released for competition use will depend on the achieved progress, relevant test results and the final certification. Then we are also planning to offer the vehicle to private teams. Based on a customer service arrangement, further development work on the vehicle will be done in close cooperation with our importers worldwide”.

Skoda will unveil the Superb 2008 at Geneva. Fundamentally this model is a Volkswagen Passat but, the Czech company knows how to add their unique features. Now, Superb has a new climate control system, parking assist and direction changing headlights, also the new model is longer by 35mm and wider by 18mm. Superb 2008 includes hatchback model setup. They announced that you have six engine options and the best is the 3.2-liter V6 which unleashes 260-hp. The transmission is manual five or six speed. We hope to give more informations soon.
