Mazda Cx-9 Grand Touring, a family car with sport attitude
The CX-9 Grand Touring was launched crossover with the claim that it embraces the sports-car line of Mazda. It is however just a crossover, with somewhat sport attitude. The small-diameter steering wheels sustains the sport part, but the CX-9 is still a seven-passenger car.
Tests on the CX 9 Grand Touring showed good friction on the track, due to the fine 20-inch tires. The CX-9 is powered by a 263 hp at 6250 rpm engine, a 3.5-liter V6 drivetrain. Transmission is automatic, six-speed, fact that makes the car much more a family vehicle.
Interior design is nothing extraordinary, a standard good-looking Mazda with a comfortable cabin atmosphere. A complaint could be the tight legroom in the third row, and this problem also appears on other vehicle of the same class, let’s say the Subaru Tribeca. Some storage space is still available with the third row up, and that is a plus, as you can transport seven people and quite some luggage in a easy-to-drive crossover. And all this at under $40,000.
Alternative options include DVD navigation with voice command and touch screen, rear view camera, Moonroof bose package including ten speaker surround system ( which is a good idea as the standard audio system is low-quality). All in all, the 2007 Mazda CX-9 Grand Touring is an excellent choice for a big family, but not only as it bears some sport spirit combined with utility.
