The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X Sportback is expected to be launched in 2008. The concept will become a production car and use a platform developed with Chrysler. This concept is shown as a hatchback and the company hints that the Evo X may also be offered as a hatchback and as a traditional sedan too. Probably it will miss the US market.
The BMW surprised us at Geneva with their new 3.0 liter engine under the hood of it`s 1 series. This engine powers the car at a top speed of 155 mph and is the same engine in 330i, with 255 hp. It can reach 0 to 62 mph in only 6.2 seconds, that it really fast, but it cannot be compared to other cars in it’s price range.
The 130i has leather sport steering, sport seats and 17 inch wheels and tires. The convertibles and coupes are not expected in the US, but in Europe we can expect them in 2007.
A great new sports car announced by Nissan, the 2007 Skyline GT-R. But the GT-R prototype is far away from the production model, having almost no interiors. Until now, Nissan has provided no details on the suspension, powertrain and other important technical details, it seems to be a surprise or even they don`t know what will come out of this prototype.
The production car is announced to be presented at the 2007 Tokyo Motor Show and it will surely be the greatest Nissan in the last few years. The car’s design is very aerodynamic and will surely please everyone, especially speed lovers. The car will have a twin turbo V6 engine with about 3.8 liters, producing 400-500 hp. This can be only great news that the Skyline GT-R will be a very powerful one.
The Shelby Cobra GT500 should be in the showrooms next spring, 2007. It has a 5.4 liter powerful engine with 450 hp, 450 lb ft torque and a six speed manual gearbox, while Mustang Gt’s have only 300 hp, 4.6 liter V8 engines. The GT500 has an independent rear suspension and, compared to standard mustang gt’s, it`s chassis changes are limited to antiroll bars, springs, bigger brakes and dampers.
It has a retro design, combined with the modern techniques and technologies.The inside gives the driver a great filling, with the leather covered seats. On the outside, the white stripes couldn`t be absent, of course. It also has some Shelby Mustang cues over old’s SVT Cobra stuff top. At the back, it has an air diffuser and a redesigned spoiler. It also has 19 inch wheels.
The BMW Z4 Coupe concept is a roadster and a really nice sports car. And it is not quite a concept, while it will be on the production line in mid 2007. Probably, it’s not as nice and shiny as Porsche Cayman, but not as expensive either. It is powered by a 261hp 3.0 liter and 232 lb ft torque engine. BMW sources say the car will reach 0 to 62 mph in 5.7 seconds and will be electronically limited to 155 mph.
It`s abstract design, made by Adrian Von Hookydonk and Chris Bangle, his Boss was criticized in 2003, but now it`s really appreciated and it is close to the recent Ferraris. It has a fast and sleek profile and it looks much better than a convertible.
